Brian Lane Green as John Merrick

Brian Lane Green grew up in Tennessee where he found great comfort singing in church. He has had many incarnations since then. In his late teens Green began working as an actor on TV (Highway to Heaven, Hotel, Murder She Wrote, etc.) By his early twenties he was starring on Broadway, as Huck Finn in Big River. He then was nominated for a Tony Award for Best Actor in a Musical for his portrayal of Space Punk in Starmites.

Brian returned to TV….this time as a soap actor, where he played Sam Fowler on Another World and Brian Bodine on All My Children. He toured the country as the biblical character Joseph in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat and returned to Broadway as the street hustler Jojo in Cy Coleman's musical, The Life. Leading roles in two gay-themed feature films followed, Circuit and the comedy Friends and Family.

Green can be heard on the live recording of The Words and Music of Jerry Herman: Tap Your Troubles Away (LML), Sondheim: A Celebration at Carnegie Hall (RCA) with the Tonics, George and Ira Gershwin: A Musical Tribute (MCA), and Grateful: The Songs of John Bucchino (RCA).

In the 25th Anniversary Tour of Champions on Ice, Olympic Gold Medalist Viktor Petrenko performed to Green's recording of Craig Carnelia's Flight from his debut CD, Brian Lane Green (LML).

On his second full-length studio album, Brian Lane Green veers away from the contemporary standards of his 1996 debut, and performs 10 of his own songs. Personal and revelatory, Green's musical biography WAITING FOR THE GLACIERS TO MELT (LML) introduces listeners to another aspect of this respected artist. Grounded in the music of his Tennessee homeland, his songs have an undeniable authenticity that makes them unique and universal at the same time.

His poignant DAD AND ME was nominated for the OUTMUSIC 2006 SONG OF THE YEAR AWARD. This debut as singer/songwriter was also named one of Cabaret’s TOP TEN ALBUMS OF 2005.
